The best of 2014

So its still January and we’re sort of still saying ‘Happy New Year’ to people we haven’t yet seen this year….not sure when we stop saying that? Like i’m not sure if its too late for me to post this blog? I really didn’t think I’d have time to go through the weddings I shot last year and pick out my favourites, but it was a pretty fun task and a great way for me to reflect on the work I’ve done, the places I’ve seen and the amazing people I’ve met.

2014 was a fantastic year for me with photography on the whole, and not just weddings. I’ve really enjoyed some couples portrait sessions as well as working with the creative team at The Painted Lady on styled shoots for Vintage Life Magazine. The best bit for me was getting the front cover of Vintage Life for the October Edition on Deco Weddings. I’ve travelled a lot around the country and visited some wonderful places from The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne, to a wonderful church on the beach in Cornwall. One of the highlights for me though was travelling to a stunning medieval village called Orta San Giulio in Italy.

I feel so lucky to be able to work with such amazing couples and have met many suppliers of the industry on my travels too. I have a links page on my site where I add only the best and most lovely folk that I have worked with, so if you’re reading this because you’re getting married then do check it out and see who else you might find to help make your day amazing!

I’m already excited about  2015 and what that might bring! I know I have some gorgeous couples out there that I’ve already met and am booked for their weddings, plus a few more styled shoots in the planning, along with some baby and family shoots – which is another thing I do. You’ll find more of that on my other site (www.carlymichael.co.uk) – i’ll be working more on this site too. Plus I’m serious about having fun this year….see what I did! I’m planning more family days out and weekends away, plus a trip to Barcelona and I am desperate to see the Northern Lights in Iceland with a visit to the Blue Lagoons and a spot of Whale Watching! Its a big birthday year for me so I’m cramming as much in as possible! I hope I can document these things for myself too.

For now though – Thank you to all my couples for making 2014 so beautiful. Here’s a round up of my favourites from last year!….There’s a lot – I am rubbish at choosing!

Oh I almost forgot. Happy New Year!
