Rebecca & Dave, Big Love in Little Missenden

Official Names, Rebecca and David, or Becky and Dave, or B and Bongo Dave…..these two have been a bit greedy with the amount of names they’re known by. So whatever you know this lovely pair as….They are now Mr & Mrs O!

Oh me oh my…!! If you’ve never been to little Missenden then you really must visit. I spent the day there recently shooting Rebecca & Davids beautifully quaint wedding. It’s the most charming countryside village with a real ‘midsumer murders’ feel to it! Actually I believe a few episodes were filmed here. No murders on this wonderful day though! Just a day full of sunshine and buckets of love!

St John Baptist church where the ceremony took place is just steeped in history, some of it is even 2000 years old! How amazing is that? I had the most fantastic day with these guys and all their friends and family too, I had no idea how funny it would be! I’m always amazed that I find other peoples speeches so funny, so emotional and so touching…..when I’m not even a real guest….they get me every time! Must remember tissues.

Becky looked absolutely stunning in her Alfred Angelo dress from Ribbons & Pearls in Cookham and I’ve never seen bridesmaids so in love with their dresses, they really were fun to photograph and were probably rather dizzy after all their spinning!

Pretty flowers  of white roses, daisies and gypsophila all wrapped in natural raffia by Petal in Chalfont st Giles plus devine hair and make-up by Oxygen in Beaconsfield, all helped to create the English Vintage Country theme! I’m so in love with this style at the moment!

Obviously it goes without saying how Dapper Dave and the boys looked in their traditional English suits too.

All girls dream of getting married in a church and this really was that fairy tale day for Becky & Dave, watching them exchange vows at the front of that tiny church was such a privilidge and I could tell they enjoyed every moment.

The reception was held in the Crown Inn pub just a short walk away from the Church. As the guests made their way to the pub, I joined Becky and Dave  plus the bridesmaids for a few moments away from the crowd to get some great portraits at a fantastic old mill house with the most perfect gardens and water features. There was a river running through the middle of the house – I’ve never seen anything like it!

Back at the pub guests enjoyed canapés, champagne and a hog roast buffet followed by dessert, speeches and the cute daisy cupcakes!

Becky & Daves first dance was Sunny by James brown & Marva Whitney, shortly followed by Dave giving us all a treat by playing the bongos with the band ‘Vodka Martinis’.

A truly wonderful day was had by all, including myself. All that leaves me to say is a huge congratulations to the gorgeous new Mr & Mrs Orton!!

Enjoy:
